Save Yourself & Your Loved One’s.

I've been a photographer for several decades now. I don't have a precise number but in that time I have photographed thousands of subjects in countless locations and for many reasons. As best I can recall there was only one client that came for the sole reason of being photographed because they knew they would pass relatively soon. All of the others did not have a time line or any trackable idea as far as dying goes. Some were taken at a very young age while others lived long joyful lives. Some were just clients I met because of photography while others were childhood friends, relatives and Brothers. One consistent thing about each of them though…. they were each somebody’s loved one. As we all know, there is no rhyme or reason to be applied and death can seem random. One thing I can attest to is that many friends and relatives of the departed have contacted me over the years asking for the photos that were taken so they could be printed and hung or placed on a mantle. So it is once again, with ALL my heart, I encourage you to indeed make memories, document and save them in several places. On your phone is not enough. Neither is just your computer hard drive. Adding the use of a cloud service that someone else has the password to (should your time come) is a good supplement to the aforementioned devices. After all, what good is taking all these pictures that document your life and memories if they just disappear when your time comes because no one can access them? So if you are one of those people that did not make a New Years Resolution..... here is a simple one to implement and accomplish for 2026. Take more pictures and devise a system to ensure they will always be around to look at when your loved ones are sharing the story of you. As you may or may not know most camera phones these days offer an automatic back up to a cloud service. Doing something like this can save your loved one’s and even yourself some headaches in a time of heartache.
